In honor of my birthday tomorrow, I thought I would finally share my 30th surprise party (from last year… insert face plant emoji).
I still can’t believe that Steve, with help from the kids, my parents, and friends were able to pull off a surprise party for me. And not just dinner at a restaurant type of surprise party, but rented a loft space, had caters come in and decorated just how I would have done surprise party. I am very noisy, have to know everything, total control freak type of person so the fact that Steve was able to keep this a secret and actually make it a surprise is shocking. The party was held at an Airbnb loft space in Detroit above Gather (this space has since turned into a beer garden, collect) and was catered by our favorite restaurant Republica.
I thought we were going to Gather for dinner as a late birthday celebration, but when we got there I was told I needed to check out the new space they were building upstairs. When I got the top of the stairs, I was greeted with a room full of friends and family yelling surprise. During the party, I loved hearing how everyone was trying to keep it a secret from me. I couldn’t have asked for a better surprise party and I’m pretty lucky to have an amazing husband who planned a perfect night for me. I’m really impressed with Camden and Jared who knew for weeks and helped coordinate, never lead me to believe anything was happening.
